Last week Little Crab and I went over to a friends house for a play-date. While the boys played, my beautiful friend and I started dinner and desert. We enjoy talking with each other and catching up while the boys play.
Apple Pie Bites
She got out a couple of apples that they had picked at the orchard the weekend before. We rolled out the pie crust and cut it into strips. We made our strips wide so we only got 4-5 bites out of each section of dough. We decided that next time we will cut the dough in half and just cover the apple slice, instead of rolling it up, which will double the amount we can make!
We peeled the apples and then used a slicer to slice them. We spread some brown sugar and cinnamon over the dough and then rolled up one slice at a time. We sprinkled a sugar and cinnamon mixture on each roll.
Easy as pie!
She put them in the oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. By the time we were done with dinner we had warm apple pie bites to enjoy with cool ice cream. What a fun, easy way to celebrate fall.
