Slave to the Kitchen: Lemon Cake

The calendar says that Spring started in late March. Has the weather went along with that plan? Now that we are pushing into May it is time to think once again about what to take to that cookout, end of year pic-nick or family reunion.  What a fun light desert that you can take to any get together you have planned as the weather warms up! It is so easy you can even make it on a weeknight. How about making this for the next bake sale at church or the next women’s group. The possibilities are endless.

The Easiest Lemon Cake I Have Ever Made

Prep-time is 5 minute (with toddler interruption), bake time 20 minutes. Let cool before you put the powdered sugar on.

What you will need: Angel food cake mix, Two 14oz cans of lemon pie filling, powdered sugar, mixing bowl, spoon, 9×9 pan.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the angel food cake mix with the lemon pie filling together in a bowl. (Your kids can help stir!) I sprayed the pan with Pam just in case. Then I spread the lemon mixture into the pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. It will be golden brown on top. Let cool before you sprinkle the powdered sugar on. Enjoy!

Seriously that is it!  This recipe is so easy and is light and fluffy. Everyone in my family loved it. I hope your family likes it as well.
