My son really likes to eat those applesauce packets. I buy other varieties than just applesauce so he can get a serving of fruits and vegetables. When I present the “fruit packet” to him, I always offer a choice. I have asked him if he wants purple or red. He thinks it’s cool that he gets to choose, I think it’s cool that he is eating things like squash, sweet potato and apple.
He calls the lids buttons. I go with it. Every few weeks, as not to burn out, I get out the bag of “buttons”. I line up a few bowls and we talk. We talk about colors. We sort the colors into different bowls. Then we count how many are of each color. Since I am collecting the caps continually, the numbers always change.
This is a fun, easy way to reuse something that would otherwise be in the trash.
