Strawberry Pretzel Salad

I first had this friends desert salad at my friends house when Little Crab and I were there for a play date. WOW! When my mom called me asking for ideas for something different to take to a cook out this came to mind. I called up my friend and got the recipe. When I called my mom back with the idea, I told her I would give it to her if she made some for me. lol. She thought I was kidding until she tried it for herself. This is a great dish to take to the summer cook out, church dinner or just for your family.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Make Jell-O with water per package instructions.

Add strawberries to jello and set aside to cool.

For the crust, mix the pretzels, butter, and the 4 tablespoons of sugar.

Press pretzel mixture into a 9 by 13-inch pan and bake for 7 minutes  then set aside to cool

In a mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese and 3/4 cup sugar

Fold whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture.

Once crust and Jell-O is cool you are ready to put your salad together

spread the cream cheese mixture ontop of the pretzel crust making sure the cream cheese is even

and pressed-up against the edges of the pan (so your jello stays on top)

then pour your jello mixture on top of the cream cheese

chill in the fridge for 3-4 hours.

This is even better the second day!

I have to be honest when I read the title for this post I was “Ewwww what?” but reading the ingredients and how you put it together it sounds pretty good. Still not sure if you can call it a salad though ahah.

“Make Jell-O with water per package instructions”
So you add the cold water too like the box says?
