Trades of Hope Tuesday

So many women live in poverty, not because they lack abilities, but because they lack opportunity. Trades of Hope was started to give women that opportunity for a better life. Each woman has a story, and with Trades of Hope’s help, their story has changed from pain and struggle to a story of HOPE!

If you are not familiar with Trades of Hope, I would like to start you off with a little video that tells the story quite beautifully of what we’re all about.

For the Next Several weeks we’re going to travel around the globe, meeting artisans from several countries and seeing their beautiful work. We’ll hear stories of HOPE, about people who have been empowered out of difficult circumstances and found sustainable employment with dignity through craft work. We’ll see how we can change the world in simple ways and we’ll have lots of fun while we’re at it!

Trades of Hope

2To begin our “World Tour” let’s start in Florida, where the Trades of Hope home office is located. Here are some photos of our founders and our amazing Home Office Team. In 2010, four amazing women began this fabulous company with a desire to help women in difficult circumstances to find opportunities for a better life. These women combined their mission work experience, desire to help and empower others, and years of entrepreneurial experience to build a company that could help artisans around the world, help women here in the US to generate income, and bring ethically traded products into homes of people just like you.

The artisans we work with who are coming out of poverty have not been down due to lack of ability, but due to lack of opportunity. The artisan groups who now employ them provide them with sustainable income as well as opportunities for education, childcare, healthcare, and/or other community involvement. We market these products to help artisans continue to earn and grow their businesses!
